For Love of Social Media

Last night I was reading Twitter, enjoying the occasional review, when someone posted something that got me thinking.  The question, posed by @kimbacaffeinate & @booklove101 was this: what books do you almost always recommend when someone asks for a suggestion.  Their lists were pretty good, and I definitely agreed with most of them, but I felt the list was too focused on YA, which is fine, especially if that's what you like!  I mean, who would recommend a book they didn't like?!

Anyway, I started thinking about the books that I would recommend.  I was thinking of the bokos that I have recommended, or books that I have let people borrow. Then I started wondering what other people would recommend.  So I decided to stop wondering, and just I love having a blog!!!  Below you will find my list, and I would love to know yours!  Please don't feel like you have to have a full list, if you just want to make a suggestion, that's cool too!

  1. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowlings
  2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
  3. Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
  4. Twilight (leave me be, these are fun books!!!) by Stephanie Meyer
  5. A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
  6. Beach Road by James Patterson
  7. The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown
  8. The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks
  9. The Locket by Richard Paul Evans
  10. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

  1. That's definitely a great list! I've read almost all of those books and really enjoyed them! :)

Some of the ones on your list I still have to read though, so it may change!!

  5. I almost always recommend any of Ellen Hopkins novels or all of them for that matter. Depending on the person I may recommend Jacquelyn Frank's Nightwalker series or L.A. Banks The Vampire Huntress Novels those are two of my favorite series for sure. I have read almost all of the books on your list as well and enjoyed them and would recommend them too.

  6. Hey, I just found your blog and it is awesome. I'm following and I look forward to reading reviews of more books!
Would you mind checking out my book/blog Escaping Jackie, I'd appreciate it very much! :)

  7. What a great question!

    2. Pride & Prejudice
    3. The Pillars of the Earth

Those are the three that popped into my mind right away :)

  9. I love all of these books - but have to say that one of the most amazing and powerful books I have read in awhile is 'A Walk Across the Sun' by Corban Addison. Definitely a must read - about an all too real problem in our world, but written as a beautiful story that is not overwhelming.

  10. Hi Amy!

I like your list, I'd like to read or have read the books on that list! And I've also read The Pillars of the Earth as well.

I wanted to let you know that I'm having a giveaway on my site to win a SIGNED copy of Shadow of Night, since I saw A Discovery of Witches on you list. Happy Friday!

  11. Great Lists guys!!! I am now going to have to read pillars of the Earth!!! I wonder if it's on my booket list?

  12. My suggestions:
    Gone with the Wind
    Harry Potter
    Jane Eyre
    Sherlock Holmes
